According to Apple, supplier Qualcomm has been putting them under pressure since the beginning of 2017 with overpriced licenses and various lawsuits are ongoing. Apple therefore no longer uses modems from Qualcomm this year and has switched to Intel, which is now the only supplier for the iPhones that will be released this year. Blackberry was also harmed by Qualcomm's abuse of power and was already able to get compensation of 841 million dollar through court. In addition to its largest customer, Qualcomm also lost capacity expansion with the acquisition of NXP, as China does not want to give permission for the acquisition.
