Hey everyone!

Saturdays are my planned weekly weightloss update posts on this blog, but I had a week of sickness, and sadly, there is not a whole lot of updating to do.

But this sickness forced me to take a break, stop everything and rest. My body literally didn't give me any choice in the matter.

So rest I did, for most of the week, and I realized that for the last 3 weeks, I have not really been resting.

I've been working non stop (and part of it is definitely my desire to keep uploading content to Steemit and Dtube), feeling very stressful with all the things that I needed to get done, and not really allowing myself any downtime or enough sleep.

I'm pretty sure that this sickness was my body's way of telling me I need to slow down, and I intend to listen.

And not only my body suffered the consequences, I've also been feeling much less positive and peaceful lately, and things that I've worked very hard on not being bothered by, started making a very unwelcome comeback. It again made me realize just HOW IMPORTANT self care routine is for health and sanity.

Sometimes when we're very busy and/or exited about something we're doing, we forget that we do need to allow ourselves some stillness and quite on a daily basis. I've not allowed myself to even read a book, because my mind was SO preoccupied, that it could not contain any new content.

So this has been my wake up call to go back to taking care of myself- physically and mentally. I wanted to give any of you who might need a similar wake up call the reminder to take care of yourselves as well.

I'm feeling much better now, and intend to prioritize my self care from this week on- getting outside, meditating, working out and spending time with family (and you know what? the daily Rick & Morty episode too).

What's your ways of taking care of yourselves and ensuring you are mentally and physically strong?

See you in the next post, until then take care! ;)

Ruth

P.S.

I did lose 700 grams (about 1.5 lbs) this week, that's not to bad for a week of lazing in bed and eating cookies in my book.
