Hello, Splinterlands warriors!
This time I'd like to share my thoughts on a card that, in my opinion, doesn't get talked about nearly enough, yet quietly hides a strength that has slowly made me appreciate it more and more. Its name is Zebajin.
The first time I saw its artwork, I immediately felt that this card had a different kind of aura. It isn't flashy or overly intimidating at first glance, but it radiates an air of mystery. Some monsters look like obvious superstars from the moment you see them, while others only reveal their true potential after you've played them several times. Zebajin definitely belongs to the second category.
The very first thing that caught my attention was its base stats. Even at Level 1, Zebajin already comes with 10 Health. That's not a number to underestimate, especially in today's Modern battles where matches are often decided by which side can survive just a little longer.
I remember thinking, "This monster is like a heavyweight boxer. It may not always throw the hardest punches, but knocking it down takes a whole lot of work."
Besides its impressive Health right from the start, Zebajin also gains Armored Strike by Level 3. This ability grants it an additional attack based on the amount of Armor it has. In other words, the better protected it is, the harder it can hit back.
To me, that's where Zebajin becomes truly unique.
Normally, Armor exists purely for defense. With Zebajin, Armor becomes a weapon. It feels like carrying a shield that's just as effective for smashing enemies as it is for blocking attacks.
As I looked at its progression all the way to the maximum level, I became even more interested because it eventually gains Last Stand.
This ability always puts a smile on my face. When every teammate has fallen and only one monster remains standing, hope usually starts to fade. But for Zebajin, that's when the real battle begins.
Last Stand significantly boosts a monster's stats when it becomes the only remaining unit on your team. Suddenly, a monster that already looked incredibly durable transforms into a nearly unstoppable final fortress.
I really love the philosophy behind this ability.
Sometimes, both in Splinterlands and in life, victory doesn't come from striking the hardest—it comes from enduring longer than everyone else.
That said, I also realize Zebajin isn't the kind of monster you can simply throw into any lineup and expect it to carry the team on its own. It performs much better when supported by teammates that can repair its Armor, provide useful buffs, or simply control the pace of the battle long enough for Zebajin to reach its strongest moment.
If you place it in the wrong position or fail to build the right supporting lineup, its full potential won't truly shine.
And honestly, that's exactly what makes it such an interesting card to play.
One of my most memorable experiences against Zebajin happened during a battle with the Global Warming ruleset.
Many monsters that are usually considered powerful fell much earlier than expected because they couldn't withstand the harsh battlefield conditions. I assumed Zebajin would suffer the same fate.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
Its 10 Health right from Level 1 became the backbone of the opposing team.
One by one, the other monsters disappeared. The battlefield grew quieter with every round.
Yet Zebajin was still standing.
That was the moment I truly understood the value of this card.
Sometimes victory doesn't belong to the monster with the highest damage.
Sometimes victory belongs to the one that simply refuses to fall.

If you ask me whether Zebajin is worth adding to your collection, my answer is definitely yes—especially if you enjoy long, tactical battles that reward patience and careful planning. It may not dominate from the very first round, but the longer a match lasts, the greater its influence becomes.
Because while everyone else is busy chasing the monster with the biggest damage numbers, sometimes it's the one that's hardest to bring down that ultimately walks away with the victory.
