Hi everyone, I've been an artist for very long mostly in the digital sector but a few weeks ago I decided to diversify my artistic skills. I decided to start pen sketching.
I've always admired pen sketches because of the amount of accuracy required, mistakes should strictly be avoided in other to get the best out of the art as no mistakes can be corrected.
Well, for those of us who know me, I've been regularly posting most of my pen sketches here. And I normally make use of the linear hatching technique for my shading, but today I decided to try something new.
My art work of today is a sketch of an anime girl and I used a new shading technique called "crossed hatching". Initially the pose of the girl wasn't really my idea, I got a reference from an Instagram artist and something about his drawing caught my eyes.
Below is the reference
I sketched the anime girl first with a pencil and then outlined it with a ball point pen before I finally tried out the crossed hatching technique.
Below is my process
I hope U love the art work, thanks.
