When you drink coffee accompanied by art | The Coffee Shop Prompt Week 166 [EN-ES]

Hello coffee lovers on Hive!

How wonderful it is when sunrises are filled with what seem to be coincidences! I say "supposed" because, as you know, I'm one of those who thinks more about cause and effect than mere coincidence.

It doesn't matter what term we use, but rather how daily life surprises us with the unexpected.

@cinnccf invites us this week to reflect on the past, on a cup of coffee that might evoke memories, and to think about what that cup represented then and how we see that memory now.

Well, you see. Just a few days ago, Arístides Vega Chapú, a renowned poet in my country, invited me for coffee at his home. An invitation I accepted, of course, with great joy and pride.

Going to his house for coffee reminded me of the time I visited Venezuela, or other years ago when, as a teenager just starting out on the path of literature as a writer, I also had the good fortune to enjoy, for endless hours, valuable conversations always accompanied by coffee in other houses where he has resided.

When you have the opportunity to meet people who teach you so much about life and remain humble, the coffee is magnified in its aroma and flavor as the central element of a ritual accompanied by the art and wonder of the human beings who welcome it.

As if we were back in those years, I was once again able to admire priceless works of art: paintings by Zayda del Río, Mayito, and other renowned artists who have traveled the world and still reside in our country.

The coffee cup, also designed and decorated by one of these artists, was the perfect vessel to accompany the delicious Cuban coffee he brewed that day, which brought a smile to my face with pure pleasure.

¡Qué maravilla cuando suceden los amaneceres cargados de coincidencias supuestas! Digo supuestas, porque, como ya saben, soy de los que piensan más bien en lo causal y no lo coincidente.

No importa el término que utilicemos, sino más bien cómo el día a día nos sorprende en la contemplación de lo inesperado.

@cinnccf nos invita a reflexionar esta semana sobre el pasado, sobre alguna taza de café que pudiera evocarnos recuerdos y pensar en qué
representaba esa taza entonces y cómo vemos ese recuerdo ahora.

Pues vean ustedes. Precisamente hace pocos días, Arístides Vega Chapú, un poeta de gran renombre en mi país, me invita a tomar café en su casa. Invitación que acepté por supuesto con toda alegría y orgullo.

El hecho de ir a su casa a tomar café, me hizo recordar la ocasión en que visité Venezuela u otros años atrás cuando, siendo yo un adolescente que apenas iniciaba por el camino de la literatura como escritor, también tuve la fortuna de disfrutar, durante interminables horas, charlas valiosas siempre acompañadas de café en otras casas donde él ha residido.

Es que, cuando uno tiene la oportunidad de conocer a personas que te enseñan tanto sobre la vida y permanecen humildes, el café se magnifica en su aroma y sabor como ente central de un ritual que se acompaña por el arte y la maravilla de los seres humanos que le acogen.

Como si estuviésemos en aquellos años, en esta ocasión también pude deleitarme de obras de arte de incalculable valor: cuadros de Zayda del Río, Mayito y otros reconocidos pintores que han dado la vuelta al mundo y aún permanecen en nuestro país.

La taza de café, también con diseño y decorado de uno de estos artistas, era el recipiente ideal para acompañar el delicioso café cubano que él hizo en este día y ante lo cual la sonrisa era inevitable con todo placer.

Así mismo, quizás ustedes han tenido alguna experiencia similar y quisieran compartírnosla. Mientras, ahora mismo tomo una nueva taza de café y me voy despidiendo, no sin antes ofrecerles a cada uno de ustedes un fuerte ¡abrazo de luz!
