¿Me interesan esos criterios? ¡Pues no!
@emily2021 y
@emiliorios y
No olviden algo importante…
¡Abrazos!

DON'T FORGET TO SMILE!
VERSION EN ESPAÑOL
Motivated by the initiative proposed by @iriswrite, I am encouraged to participate with some of my assessments on the subject, although I really do not like to talk about myself.
Since I can remember, or at least since I can remember, I have always been of the opinion of acting in accordance with my way of being, my personality characteristics, character, moral patterns and human values that my maternal grandmother made me always take into account and that have been an inseparable part of my way of being.
I am not anyone extraordinary, but I do believe that I am someone strange and for this reason I have sometimes perceived that many navigate through life on a different wavelength. Which I obviously respect, but in various situations they manage to invade, or try to, my person in some way simply for thinking or acting differently from them.
It is clear that our societies are governed by specific sociocultural patterns that characterize them in some way and at the same time differentiate them from others. Also, of course, as human beings that we are, we have specificities that attribute similar qualities to us as a species, and at the same time singularities that make us differ from those social canons in which we find ourselves inserted.
Although it may seem simple to respond to @iriswrite's initiative, it is not. There are many variables to analyze if one wants to delve into the subject. From the academy, dissimilar edges can be defined from the psychological, sociological, anthropological, statistical and social points of view in any of the spheres of analysis and that is what is rich about it.
@iriswrite mentioned some interesting issues, usually from her position as a woman, but which go beyond the generic assigned or accepted. Sometimes, this type of behavior and its relationship with what others will say, is closely linked to the sociocultural.
Let me explain. A woman drinking alone somewhere can perceive that she is being valued in some way or another by others, she herself can feel questioned even though no one has really done it (but here there would be other elements to consider), etc. But this situation would be different depending on the context. For example, in many European countries, a woman drinking alone in a bar would have no greater meaning than that, precisely someone who has the desire to drink alone and that's it.
Unfortunately, there are still societies where their codes limit the legitimate development of individualities. Note here an example in Middle Eastern countries where women cannot even have their faces uncovered. Is this something negative? Well, it depends on which side we stand on to face it. Perhaps for some it is something worth maintaining in their customs. Personally, I think that the important thing is that people should feel good about themselves without harming others or their own development as individuals.
Other examples were given by @iriswrite: bathing in the rain, walking barefoot... Why not? If someone likes to do it and does not harm anyone with it, then let them do it if it brings them pleasure and happiness! Personally, I love bathing in the rain and walking barefoot and I do it without caring what others say. Many in my country think that this is only reserved for children and that when an adult does it, it shows signs of immaturity. Do I care about those criteria? Well, no! When I can bathe in a downpour, which I haven't done for a long time, I go for it!
I was saying that I have a hard time talking about myself and that's why you might think that I've been avoiding answering about the subject personally beyond the analysis that I've done so far from my own perspective.
Our friend @iriswrite asks us to tell you how what people say has affected our lives. And yes, it's true that the opinion of others about me has affected me from many points of view and I find it regrettable because it has been through judgments established without even hesitating to check their veracity, just for the simple fact of not empathizing with my way of being or assuming some criterion that someone, with bad intentions, promulgates to my detriment.
What do I do in situations like these? Well, I smile and continue with my life with my head held high because I don't hurt anyone, I don't offend anyone, I don't invade anyone's space and therefore I walk through life with the peace of mind that I'm just a human being who gives everything of himself to help others regardless of what they assume as a result or not. I help and smile at everyone, even if they question me for no reason, because life is about being happy with oneself and for me, it makes me happy to give of myself to everyone without expecting anything in return. As long as I continue to be consistent with that, the rest seems inconsequential to me. Life will take care of putting things in their place and there is nothing more beautiful than the moment when someone comes to you and says: I'm sorry for having hurt you, I didn't know you and I let myself be carried away by others. What do I do in these cases? I just smile and hug them.
@iriswrite asked us to mention the author who responded to this call with his/her most liked or inspired post, but at the time of writing these letters only
@emily2021 and
@charjaim had participated with reflections that I find interesting.
Still, I am sure that the experiences that @maiasun84,
@emiliorios and
@maylink will tell us will be enriching and stimulating for many.
I also invite @damarysvibra and
@mairimmorales to share their ideas on the topic at hand.
So far, I hope you enjoyed it and tell me your opinions.
Don't forget something important... Always smile, even if the day is gray or silent!
Hugs!
