As ruas da nossa cidade
têm seus paralelepípedos manchados com suas pegadas.
O tempo passa, e eu não consigo me livrar
da dor dos sinais que você ignora.
Você mora mais perto,
na faixa de pedestres,
em cada esquina,
mas com muros mais altos.
A causalidade repete o óbvio
em cada palavra
que continuamos dizendo
ao mesmo tempo.
Você insiste no grito que abafa,
um grito que me revira o peito,
a cada passo.
O tempo passa
e nossas vidas murcham
por causa do pretexto que nem você
é capaz de acreditar,
mesmo que repita para si mesmo.
Não há mais lágrimas escondidas
na terra enquanto eu passo.
A causalidade continua a acontecer.
Eu perco a cabeça
por não te abraçar,
e o vento me afoga em sua maré,
queimando minha sombra
nas ruas da nossa cidade.

The streets of our city
have their cobblestones stained with your footprints.
Time passes, and I can't shake off
the pain of the signs you ignore.
You live closer,
at the crosswalk,
on every corner,
but with higher walls.
Causality repeats the obvious
in every word
we keep saying
at the same time.
You insist on the scream you stifle,
a scream that twists my chest,
with every step.
Time passes
and our lives wither
because of the pretext that not even you
are able to believe
even though you repeat it to yourself.
There are no more tears hidden
in the earth as I pass by.
Causality continues to happen.
I lose my mind
for not embracing you,
and the wind drowns me in its tide,
burning my shadow
in the streets of our city.
