Candela compadre...
Incluso,
hablando como los locos,
siempre te he dicho Candela,
y rima con Poeta.
Ahora imagino tu risa
otra,
otra,
y muchas entre versos del otro Borges,
porque Borges me llamabas;
y entre una y otra
dibujaste la caricatura
que guardo con tu firma.
Tu firma compadre...
Borges,
no te me pongas sensible compadre.
Anda,
PD:
No te digo adiós
porque todavía
la hoja está en blanco.
¡Muchas gracias por tu visita!
Saludos cordiales @roswelborges

Candela, my friend...
I'm not going to say what day it is today
because writing to you is timeless
and time is an invention
so poets can write about other poets.
Even,
speaking like crazy,
I've always called you Candela,
and it rhymes with Poet.
Now I imagine your laughter
and you're firing off one of those really badass poems
capable of making the girl at the first table tremble,
or that mulatto woman who left you penniless.
Well,
that was difficult.
That mulatto woman
had to work in a bank
to know you had money,
you liked mulatto women
and you were one of those who write,
because it's obvious
that poets write.
Then I remember the year 2007.
We had read together at the Uneac in Cienfuegos
and that deserved a celebration.
You were still drinking beer
and we went with Ninja to Tomás Terry's.
We were buccaneers
and buccaneers were the brand.
We drank one,
another,
another,
and many between verses of the other Borges,
Because you called me Borges;
and between one and the other
you drew the caricature
that I keep with your signature.
Your signature, my friend...
I read it
and it seems to me I'm not reading it
but listening to your voice when you say:
Borges,
don't get sensitive on me, my friend.
Come on,
serve us a drink and let the poets read.
PS:
I'm not saying goodbye
because the page
is still blank.
Thank you very much for your visit!
Best regards @roswelborges
