My precious fucks, so many I've given.
Carelessly distributed, as though they were infinite.
A million and one opinions, begging for attention...
And to how many I've responded, as though it make a difference.
How many times, I've rewarded ignorance.
Through the simplest of giving a fuck, ignoring the limits.
Fools acting as they knew their shit,
Reeled in, just as much of a fool, for the fucks I was willing to give.
Oh, my precious fucks, so many I've given.
Masses of morons, regurgitating opinions,
To whom I've responded, when I could have remained indifferent.
Everybody wants their time in the spotlight,
applauded for parrot-like repetition of beliefs -
What disservice I've done, leaking anything to through my teeth.
Yeah. Fuck.
Way too many I've given.
To the wrong people, for wrong reasons, in wrong seasons...
So wrong.
Lessons learned? One would hope.
Cuz I can't bear to go on giving so many fucks, what a joke.
Social media flooded with ill-informed views and fake news,
treated like Truth, so many have abused.
So easy it'd be, to say "who the fuck cares."
Apparently, I did.
To the world, my fucks were beared.
Yet, the bullshit never ceased,
my fucks nearing exhaustion,
left with little left but the stench of regret for time lost.
My precious fucks, I've done you so wrong.
Spread you in places you never should have gone.
How it hurts to admit the mistakes I've made,
dis-eased with the pain of too many fucks gave.
So like Jesus, may we be,
giving far less fucks,
righteous as he.
In a world gone mad,
sitting back to observe without slipping into the bad.
Fucks conservation,
shall be the law of our nation.
Should too many we give,
let there be a slap on the wrist.
My precious fucks, ye shall be guarded from hereforth.
Never again, for no one, shall my soul contort.
