Who turns lemons into lemonade? Well, I'm hardly Him, but here's our new recipe. I don't know what lemons cost at the store, what a buck or so? Well this is worth it. I picked three fresh lemons. You can buy them at the store, tee hee. Anyway, heat a cup of water and add 3/4 cup of powdered sugar. Make a syrup, doesn't have to boil, no need to reduce.
Zest about a 1/2 teaspoon and add to the heating water. Cut the lemons in half, squeeze their guts out and strain into a pitcher. Save the empty lemon rinds, set aside. Add a cup of cold water for each lemon (3). Add the sugar water, mix and set aside. Now, when you go to get ice to serve with the lemonade , take a muffin pan and put the rind halves in the pan. Fill them with water, let freeze and plop one in to your water pitcher when needed. This made a little over a quart of lemonade. Now sit back let them ol' salivary glands get ready to party.
