A couple days ago we cleaned out the freezer. Rotated and organized all the foods we did. I found a ham butt from 2011. Perfectly sealed, frozen solid and still pink. I'm gonna go for it. If it smells like a ham, cooks like a ham, and still tastes like a ham, I'm gonna eat it (unless the dogs turn it down). We consumed a jar of home preserves about 20 years old once. We ate it safely, was sweet and tasty. I could not be sure of what fruit it was. I think it was strawberry. Gee, that is a lot like what they sell today anyway. If you don't see any posts in a while, you'll know it was a bad idea to eat the ham. Fast Forward .... I ate the ham. It was delicious! Note: Candy is upset I told you all about the 7 year old ham. I am being sent to the time out corner. She is confiscating my mouse. That's OK, we have plenty mice in the house and I'm not setting traps until I get mine back. Deal with that! LOL!!!!!
