Hello everyone!
I'm glad to share my simple cake project which is a Frozen Theme, mostly requested by young girls for their birthday. I will be showing my step by step process on decorating and the piping tips I used in each piping style.
Let's get started!
The cake was already covered with whipped cream and chilled for 15 minutes. I used mocha chiffon cake and filled with mocha flavored whipped cream.
I used my round cutter to mark a curve line to serve as my guide for ruffles to make sure the the ruffles are equally designed around the cake.
Here's how it looks like after I piped ruffles using a leaf tip. I used sky blue food color gel for this colored frosting. Piping on the sides is more difficult for me than piping on the top, practice makes it easier.
For the shell border I used 6B piping tip, the most effective technique in piping except for practice is to be calm. When you panic or get nervous your hands will be shaking while piping and the outcome is your piping is not uniform. It's okay if it's not perfect at least it looks beautiful.
These are the printed toppers and details for the cake, I usually get free photos online then edit it in photoshop and resize it according to what is needed. Cut it out then attach it to the stick or floral wire.
Attach the name of the celebrant at the front then the snowflakes in between the ruffles. I also pipe some small ball-like frosting around the cake using a round piping tip.
This is how it looks like after I put all the printed toppers. I hope that the celebrant will like it.
By the way, I used 2 cups of whipping cream for this cake including the filling.
Disclaimer: I'm not a Professional Baker or Pastry Chef, I'm a home baker. I'm sharing the things I've learned through online tutorials and from experience.
