Had a durian kampung or "dahit" as I say in my native language for afternoon snack and it was delicious.
There are many types of durian that can be found especially here in Malaysia, there are some known as Musing King, D24, Durian kampung and etc.
Durian is known for its strong smell to the extent hotels don't allow them in. But, for durian lovers, this fruit is heaven. It is fatty, creamy and yummy!
Among all the durian, I love the durian kampung because it has a distinct texture and taste as compared to the other durians.
In terms of its fruit itself, it is smaller compared to the other durian. Durian kampung can have two different color, either yellowish or redish. The red colored is rather harder to find becuase it is not usually planted and it grows wild in the jungle.
Another good reason I like durian kampung because my in-law has the tree just next to their house and it is quite a durian galore when the season has come, just like today.
My other half is usually the one who will open all the fruits and I get to enjoy watching her open them and enjoy eating the fruits and the same time, lol.
