Today I saw an awesome post by @fabian98 that you can find here

The post covered a lot of things that are sometimes overlooked about cryptocurrency and the future of how energy is utilized and produced in our world. Where things like Elon Must whining about energy myths get a ton of media attention, things on the more positive end of the spectrum are overshadowed often.

What Was It About?

So @fabian98 talked about a hydroelectric plant owned by Albany Engineering Corp in New York that has switched over to mining cryptocurrency as it has become a profitable endeavor than simply selling electricity to the local municipalities.

The post also discusses the concept that the excess energy or resources released during the mining process can be used to power nearby buildings or even use excess heat to power nearby greenhouses. @fabian98 highlighted the mutually beneficial nature of running a mining facility in a town; if the stigma is dropped regarding the usage of energy, there is room for crazy growth and innovation!

What I Liked:

As I mentioned, things like this are often overlooked in our traditional media outlets. News of slow growth and increased productivity doesn't sell like FUD or some dumb billionaire running their mouth on Twitter. @fabian98 wrote a piece that highlights real changes that are happening in our world without the gaudy performative nature of a popular news story propelling it to the top of your media feed. It also highlighted some real world positives of cryptocurrency that go beyond simply making money (though that is included as well). The ending of the post also theorizes the benefits of a hydroelectric plant like this for a country such as Venezuela; there is a lot of room for growth in this industry and as innovations continue popping up, I know that we will see similar successes coming rapidly.
