There seems to be a lot of drinking for breakfast lately. In my defense there has been a lot of celebrating going on in the family; this is not an all-year occurrence. :) Well as it happens, Wine Sunday was enjoyed with breakfast crepes (filled with túró, which is Hungarian shorthand for the mixture of warm farmers cheese, sour cream, sugar, lemon rinds, and bourbon...trust me its delicious)
The wine is a sweet, highly balanced (aciditywise) Tokaji Aszú. 3 Puttonyos, in the top photograph, is actually the least sweet that it comes in (highest is 6). Chateau Megyer is one of the higher quality wineries making this wine. This bottle for instance costs $40 (the 5 Puttyonos in the pic below was about $55. Plus 1993 was a stellar year in Tokaji wine production).
Cheers to Life, Wine, and WineSunday!
