Using Steemit.com, we can transfer Steem or SBD to other users and add a private memo. To make the memo private, we just need to start the memo with character '#'. For example, if we want to send the following memo:
This is a message
We can add '#' to make this memo private:
#This is a message
Private memo can only be read by the sender and receiver.
I tested Busy.com for private memo. Please note in the following screenshot, I wrote '#Private memo' to try to make this memo private:
Click 'Continue'. It goes to steemconnect:
Click 'Continue'. It goes to steemconnect Sign in page:
Please note, I used active key to sign in.
It shows it's success. Go to the link in the above screenshot
It shows the memo of '#Private memo' is not private. Everybody can read it.
I understand that I used active key to sign in steemconnet. That's the reason that memo is not encrypted. The issue is that when the user tried to send a private message, the message is sent out publicly without any warning.
The suggestion is, in Busy.com, when user tries to send a private message, display a warning that the message may not be private.
