One thing I have learned about life is that disappointment is part of the journey, Nobody wants to be disappointed, of course, but sometimes things just don't go the way we planned them. There have been times when I was really excited about something only for everything to change suddenly. You already have everything planned in your head, you are expecting a good result, then somehow, things go the opposite way.
That kind of feeling can really be annoying,
At first, I used to take disappointment very personally If something didn't work out, I would keep thinking about it for a long time, I would ask myself what I did wrong, why it happened to me and whether I should have done something differently but Sometimes I would even lose motivation to try again.
But as I continue growing I am beginning to understand that disappointment doesn't always mean I have failed, Sometimes it simply means that something didn't work out the way I expected And honestly there is a big difference. As a student I have experienced this in different ways, You can study for something and still not get the result you wanted, You can prepare for an activity and something can happen that changes the whole plan.
You can also make plans with friends and everybody suddenly changes their mind
At first, it can be frustrating, but you eventually have to accept what happened and move forward, I am learning th at I cannot control everything and I can control the effort I put into something but I cannot control every result. I can prepare properly, but there are still things outside my control, Understanding this has helped me worry less.
Another thing I am learning is not to allow one disappointment to spoil everything else, Sometimes when one thing goes wrong, we start seeing everything negatively and You can have one bad experience in the morning and suddenly the whole day feels useless I have done that before too. Now, whenever something disappoints me I try to give myself some time to calm down.
I think about what happened learn whatever lesson I can from it and then decide what to do next. Sometimes the answer is to try again, Sometimes you need to change your approach. And sometimes you simply need to accept that it wasn't meant to happen at that particular time, I am also learning to talk to people when I need to. Keeping everything inside can make a small problem feel much bigger and Sometimes talking to a trusted person can help you look at the situation from another angle.
Most importantly, I am learning not to let disappointment change the way I see myself. One bad result doesn't mean I am a failure, One mistake doesn't mean I cannot succeed. One person walking away doesn't mean nobody cares about me.
Life continues, There will always be things that don't work out but there will also be things that eventually surprise us in a good way.
So these days I am trying to take disappointment as part of the learning process. I may feel bad when something goes wrong, and that's normal but I don't want to remain there forever, I want to learn, adjust and keep moving.
I may not understand why some things happen immediately but I believe that every experience can teach me something if I am willing to learn from it.
Not everything will go according to my plan, but I can still choose to keep going
