Hello friends of #hivediy this is my first time visiting this community full of creative people and I join today with a project I did at home recently with my husband to renovate our dining room set that after years of use and thanks to the rays of sun that daily come through our window had lost its beautiful red color.
Particularly I am a fan of renovation programs, DIY, crafts and everything you can do at home to give life to your spaces, so for me this kind of projects are great although I do not do them often, because many times they are things that involve a large investment, but in this case it was not so because I had at home everything I needed, in fact I did not have to buy anything and the truth is that you need practically two things; the fabric and an upholstery stapler or tacks.
In my case I took the fabric from some very nice black curtains I had at home and thanks to the fact that we like this type of work we had an upholstery stapler, so we had the most important thing because the rest of the materials are things that are in every house; thread, needle, scissors.

GET TO WORK!!
With the materials at hand, the first thing we did was to disassemble the chairs; the back and the seat.
In the case of our furniture we decided to make a kind of lining for the first piece and for the seat part we used the stapler for practicality and speed.
BACKPATCH
Make a pattern on paper using the chair back as a guide.
Using a chalk, mark the pattern on the fabric leaving 1.5cm for the seam allowance.
Cut out all the pieces and then proceed to sew, for which we will face the right sides of the fabric, leaving the part marked with chalk facing out and baste. I do this seam to make sure that the measurement is correct and to be able to adjust if necessary.
Once we have checked that the piece fits correctly, we proceed to sew our lining, either by sewing machine or by hand as in my case. We place the lining on the back of the chair and close the bottom by folding the edges of the fabric inward. Sew on the outside with small stitches and that way our lining will be finished.
FOR THE SEAT
Mark with chalk on the fabric the seat of the chair leaving an additional 3cm on each side.
Cut out all the pieces.
Place the fabric on a firm surface and place the seat of our chair on it. Fold the edges inward and fasten with the stapler or tacks until all four sides are covered.
All the pieces ready, we proceeded to reassemble our chairs and this is how this home renovation turned out! I liked the result, what do you think?

Para mí, todo proyecto que involucre creatividad, renovación y reciclaje es un SI rotundo porque definitivamente no hay nada mejor que hacer algo con tus propias manos y a tu gusto y darle nuevos aires a mi juego de comedor fué uno de esos proyectos a los que le dije SI.
Hola amigos de #hivediy es mi primera vez visitando esta comunidad repleta de gente creativa y me sumo hoy con un proyecto que hice en casa hace poco con mi esposo para renovar nuestro juego de comedor que después de años de uso y gracias a los rayos de sol que a diario entran por nuestra ventana había perdido su bonito color rojo.
Particularmente soy fan de los programas de renovación, bricolaje, manualidades y todo lo que se pueda hacer en casa para darle vida a sus espacios, así que para mí éste tipo de proyectos son geniales aunque no los hago con frecuencia, ya que muchas veces son cosas que implican una gran inversión, pero en éste caso no fue así porque tenía en casa todo lo necesario, de hecho no tuve que comprar nada y la verdad se necesitan prácticamente dos cosas; la tela y una engrapadora de tapicería o tachuelas.
En mi caso la tela la tomé de unas cortinas negras muy lindas que tenía en casa y gracias a que nos gusta éste tipo de trabajos teníamos una engrapadora de tapicería, por lo que contábamos con lo más importante porque el resto de los materiales son cosas que hay en toda casa; hilo, aguja, tijera.

A TRABAJAR!!
Con los materiales a mano lo primero que hicimos fue desarmar las sillas; la parte del espaldar y el.asiento.
En el caso de nuestros muebles decidimos hacer una especie de forro para la primera pieza y para la parte del asiento utilizar la engrapadora por temas de practicidad y rapidez.
PARA EL ESPALDAR
Hacer un patrón sobre papel utilizando como guía el espaldar de la silla.
Ayudados por una tiza marcar el patrón sobre la tela dejando 1.5cm para la costura.
Recortar todas las piezas y seguidamente proceder a coser, para lo que enfrentaremos los derechos de la tela, dejando la parte marcada con tiza hacia afuera y basteamos. Esta costura la hago para asegurarme que la medida esté bien y poder ajustar de ser necesario.
Una vez comprobado que la pieza ajusta correctamente procedemos a coser nuestro forro, ya sea en máquina de coser o a mano como en mi caso. Colocamos el forro en el espaldar de la silla y cerramos por la parte inferior doblando los bordes de la tela hacia adentro. Coser por fuera con puntadas pequeñas y de esa manera estarían terminados nuestros forros.
PARA EL ASIENTO
Marcar con tiza sobre la tela el asiento de la silla dejando 3cm adicionales por cada lado.
Recortar todas las piezas.
Colocar la tela en una superficie firme y sobre ella el asiento de nuestra silla. Doblar los bordes hacia adentro y fijar con la engrapadora o tachuelas hasta cubrir los cuatro lados.
Listas todas las piezas procedemos a ensamblar nuevamente nuestras sillas y así quedó ésta renovación en casa! A mí me gustó el resultado, qué opinan ustedes?
