Por aquí todo bien, lista para compartir con ustedes el paso a paso de la recuperación de una pulserita de mi hija Miranda, y es que hoy al prepararse para ir al colegio una de sus pulseritas favoritas se rompió, y vino al cuarto a mostrarme y pedirme si la podía salvar porque a ella le gusta mucho, sobre todo porque fue una de sus creaciones en un curso de bisutería que hizo en vacaciones, así que hoy esa fue mi tarea de la mañana.
Hello Hive community, how are you all? Everything’s fine here; I’m ready to share with you the step-by-step process of repairing one of my daughter Miranda’s bracelets. You see, today, whilst getting ready for school, one of her favourite bracelets broke, and she came into my room to show it to me and ask if I could fix it because she really loves it – especially as it was one of her creations from a jewellery-making course she did during the holidays, so that was my task this morning.
La pulsera estaba hecha con con una combinación de cuentas plásticas, de color azul claro, cristales transparentes y mostacillas doradas, y estaban sujetas por un cordón elástico, y ese fue el motivo por el cual se rompió, ya que tenía bastante tiempo, de hecho le había durado bastante.
En fin, que, para recuperarla decidí usar alfileres de ojo para conectar las piezas, ya que esto le va a dar un poco más de durabilidad, pero también porque no tengo en casa en este momento hilo elástico, así que decidí trabajar con parte de mis materiales de bisutería, y ya que estaba en eso le agregué también unos corazoncitos dorados que espero que le gusten porque a ella le gusta mantener todas las cosas, simples, así que vamos a ver qué dice de la adición de los corazones y si no le gustan, los retiros sin problema. Y ahora sí sin más, vamos con el paso a paso.
The bracelet was made from a combination of light blue plastic beads, clear crystals and gold-coloured beads, all strung on an elastic cord, which was why it broke – it was quite old, and in fact had lasted quite a long time.
Anyway, to repair it, I decided to use eye pins to connect the pieces, as this will make it a bit more durable, but also because I don’t have any elastic thread at home at the moment, so I decided to use some of my jewellery-making supplies, and while I was at it, I also added some little gold hearts, which I hope she’ll like, as she prefers to keep things simple, so we’ll see what she says about the hearts, and if she doesn’t like them, I’ll take them off no problem. And now, without further ado, let’s get on with the step-by-step guide.

Paso a paso/Step by step
Para la elaboración de este brazalete en principio, vamos a necesitar dos piezas, una que van a ser los corazoncitos y la segunda, que estará formada por una pieza de cristal, una cuenta azul y una mostacilla dorada unidas en un alfiler de ojo, y esta es la primera pieza que vamos a elaborar ya que es de las que más necesitamos.
Para esto lo que haremos es tomar un cristal, una cuenta azul y una mostacilla y un cristal lo pasamos por el alfiler de ojo, cortamos el excedente y creamos nuestro aro como ya les he mostrado antes, solamente ubicamos la pinza en el extremo del alfiler de ojo y giramos sobre sí misma y, de esta forma, tenemos lista la pieza.
Con ayuda de la pinza plana nivelamos los aros para que queden ubicados en la misma dirección.
To make this bracelet, we’ll need two pieces to start with: one consisting of the little hearts, and the second made up of a piece of glass, a blue bead and a gold seed bead strung onto an eye pin. This is the first piece we’ll make, as it’s the one we’ll need the most of.
To do this, we’ll take a glass bead, a blue bead and a small gold bead; we’ll thread the glass bead onto the eye pin, cut off the excess wire and create our loop as I’ve shown you before. We simply place the flat-nose pliers at the end of the eye pin and twist it round itself, and in this way, the piece is ready.
Using the flat-nose pliers, we align the loops so that they are all facing the same way.
Continuamos armando la pieza de los corazones y para esto solo vamos a utilizar un alfiler de ojo y el corazón, no le vamos a colocar ningún elemento adicional, así que solo vamos a hacer pasar el corazón, cortamos el excedente del alfiler de ojo y cerramos como ya les mostré arriba.
Elaboramos nuestras tres piezas y en este punto ya estamos listos para comenzar con el armado de nuestro brazalete.
We’ll continue assembling the heart piece, and for this we’ll just use an eye pin and the heart; we won’t be adding any extra elements, so we’ll simply thread the heart onto the pin, trim off the excess eye pin, and close it as I showed you earlier.
We’ll make our three pieces, and at this point we’re ready to start assembling our bracelet.
Para el armado vamos a comenzar uniendo dos piezas de cuentas, y una vez que hayamos armado los diferentes pares vamos a conectar un corazón en medio de cada dos piezas, es decir, vamos a intercalar un corazón entre 2 piezas de cuentas hasta obtener el largo del brazalete.
To assemble the bracelet, we’ll start by joining two sections of beads together, and once we’ve put the different pairs together, we’ll attach a heart in the middle of every two sections – in other words, we’ll alternate a heart between two sections of beads until we reach the desired length of the bracelet.
Listo este paso, lo que hacemos ahora es conectar nuestro gancho para cerrar el brazalete y este lo colocamos en uno de los extremos de nuestra pulsera, para ello simplemente abrimos un poco el ojito que trae el gancho y lo conectamos a la pulsera y cerramos con la pinza plana.
En el otro extremo yo decidí agregar dos piezas más de cuentas para que quedara una especie de colgante, ya que a mí me gusta mucho, pero es posible que a miranda no le guste y lo tenga que retirar, porque yo trabajé un poco según mi gusto y confiando en que le guste, pero conociendo a mi. mi hija es posible que ni los corazones ni el colgante le gusten. Ojalá que esté equivocada porque la verdad, así como quedó, me encanta.
Now that this step is done, what we do next is attach the clasp to close the bracelet. We place this at one end of the bracelet; to do this, simply open the small loop on the clasp slightly, attach it to the bracelet, and secure it with the flat-nose pliers.
At the other end, I decided to add two more beads to create a sort of pendant, as I really like it, but Miranda might not like it and I might have to remove it, because I made it a bit to my own taste, hoping she’d like it, but knowing my daughter, she might not like either the hearts or the pendant. I hope I’m wrong because, to be honest, I absolutely love the way it turned out.
Como ven es un accesorio bastante sencillo de hacer, es simplemente conectar piezas entre sí sin ningún tipo de complicación, así que tienen otro diseño para recrear en casa o inspirarse para crear los suyos.
As you can see, it’s a fairly simple accessory to make; it’s just a matter of connecting the pieces together without any fuss, so here’s another design for you to recreate at home or use as inspiration to create your own.
