Yesterday was the academic closure of the 2022-2023 period of the Ballet Academy to which my daughter Miranda belongs, and for this, they held an open class, which was intended to make a final evaluation of the dancers.
The idea in this case was to perform before parents and representatives the activities they normally do in class, both for parents to see them in action, and for the director of the academy to evaluate the development of the children and decide which group they will belong to in the period 2023-2024, which is about to begin.
This final exam was scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m., but the dancers in the company of their representatives or relatives (3 per student), had to be there from 2:00 p.m., so we had time to know a little of the Casa de la Cultura "Ramón Vázquez Brito" of Porlamar, and take some pictures while the room was opened for the entrance, which happened around 3:00 p.m., and once located, we only had to wait for the evaluation to start.
Which happened at approximately 3:30 p.m., and extended until after six o'clock in the afternoon, since there are different levels, in addition to being present at the three sites of the school of Ballet, in fact the number of dancers was over 70.
As always, they started with the youngest of the academy, who in the company of their teachers showed everyone how much they have advanced during this academic period, and without a doubt, the first two levels are the most tender and fun to watch.
But after 4 groups of little ones, things got more serious, and you could already see much more technique, and strange names for each step, and it is really amazing how some of them did not need to see their teachers to know what they should do, which shows how much they have learned, and the great job the teachers did.
Miranda's group was the second to last and for the first time we were able to see her working on the bars, which was a surprise for us, as we had never seen her before, so we really enjoyed this new stage of her training as a dancer.
And I think, without fear of being wrong, that I was more nervous than her, who came out super calm on stage when she heard her name, and stood with total confidence in front of the bars and followed the teacher's instructions.
They did some movements on the bars, and finally other positions and steps that they learned during this year, and once their evaluation was finished, it was the turn of the older kids, who also did some bar work, and did an incredible presentation. I was amazed at the amount of commands they can follow with being said just once, and a lot of steps. They simply excelled.
Finally, the event ended with a hurried presentation of diplomas to all the students. Some for having passed the academic year, others for their participation in the event, as well as special recognitions to students and teachers, and of course to close with a flourish, a beautiful photo with the whole group of dancers and teachers.
We as parents? Super happy to see Miranda doing something she loves since she was a little girl and to be able to accompany her in every little step she takes.
El día de ayer fue el cierre académico del período 2022-2023 de la academia de Ballet, a la que pertenece mi hija Miranda, y para ello, realizaron una clase abierta, que tenía como propósito hacer una evaluación final a los bailarines.
La idea en este caso era realizar ante padres y representantes las actividades que normalmente hacen en clases, tanto para que los padres puedan verlos en acción, como para que la directora de la academia evaluara el desenvolvimiento de los chicos y decidir a qué grupo van a pertenecer en el período 2023-2024, que está por comenzar.
Este exámen final estaba pautado para iniciar a las 3 de la tarde, pero los bailarines en compañía de sus representantes o familiares (3 por alumno), debían estar desde las 2:00 p.m., así que tuvimos tiempo de conocer un poco la Casa de la Cultura "Ramón Vázquez Brito" de Porlamar, y tomar algunas fotografías mientras se abría la sala para la entrada, lo que sucedió cerca de las 3:00 p.m., y una vez ubicados, sólo quedaba esperar diera inicio la evaluación.
Cosa que ocurrió a las 3:30 p.m. aproximadamente, y se extendió hasta pasadas las seis de la tarde, ya que son distintos niveles, además de encontrase presentes las tres sedes de la escuela de Ballet, de hecho el número de bailarines pasaba los 70.
Como siempre iniciaron con las más pequeñas de la academia, quienes en compañía de sus maestras mostraron a todos, lo mucho que han avanzado durante este periodo académico, y sin lugar a dudas, los dos primeros niveles son los más tiernos y divertidos de ver.
Pero luego de 4 grupos de pequeñitas, las cosas se pusieron más serias, y ya se podía ver mucha más técnica, y nombres extraños para cada paso, y es realmente increíble cómo algunas no necesitaban ver a sus maestras para saber qué debían hacer, lo que demuestra lo mucho que han aprendido, y el gran trabajo que hicieron las maestras.
El grupo de Miranda fue el antepenúltimo y por primera vez pudimos verla trabajando en las barras, lo que fue una sorpresa para nosotros, pues hasta la fecha no la habíamos visto, así que disfrutamos mucho esta nueva etapa de su entrenamiento como bailarina.
Y creo, sin temor a equivocarme, que yo estaba más nerviosa que ella, quien salió súper tranquila al escenario cuando escuchó su nombre, y se paró con total seguridad frente a las barras y siguió las instrucciones de la profesora.
Realizaron algunos movimientos en las barras, y finalmente otras posiciones y pasos que aprendieron durante este año, y una vez finalizada su evaluación, fue el turno de los más grandes, quienes también realizaron trabajo de barras, e hicieron una presentación increíble. Yo estaba sorprendida por la cantidad de órdenes que pueden seguir con ser dichas solo una vez, y una gran cantidad de pasos. Simplemente se lucieron.
Finalmente, el acto terminó con una apresurada entrega de diplomas a todos los alumnos. Algunos por haber aprobado el año académico, otros por la participación en el evento, además de reconocimientos especiales a alumnos y maestros, y por supuesto para cerrar con broche de oro, una foto hermosa con todo el grupo de bailarines y maestros.
¿Nosotros como papás? Súper felices de ver a Miranda hacer algo que ama desde pequeñita y poder acompañarla en cada pasito que da.
