Art as an event. Yes, it's an interesting and challenging perspective to see art. Event, A phrase that points to an incident that we can not fully understand but that is why we want to go back there constantly. Events become the starting point and reference of human life. Our daily lives whether private or collective, whether consciously or unconsciously are always dotted with events and always waiting for new events. People around Mount, Central Java, for example, make the last eruption a starting point and whether consciously or not, is ready for further eruptions with an unknown result. Thus life is like trying to make the rhythms of events that can not really be made. But often the result is bitter. Once there is a rhythm, an event interrupts again and it all starts from zero.

What does it mean to approach art as an event? To be honest, every artist and his supporters would hope that the artwork being held could be an event for those who enjoy it. Open catalog or exhibit or show synopsis. There we will be convinced that the art that will be held will surely be part of life events, both artists and the common people. What events? We do not know. What is clear, from one side we secretly expect art can be an event of life. Without being an event, art can become a tedious routine. But from the other side we are still swaying what kind of events we are really looking for in and through art. It is precisely this "type of event" that should be thought of by artists and artists alike.

To limit myself to this vast range, I want to start from some writings from the book of Vodka and compilations of a "Prophet", because in this book I can recall my experience in touch with the art world for some last year. In other words, I want to start from my experience in the field of art. Regarding the art perspective as an "event," I will use Lacanian's perspective to see the dimensions covered in the event.
