"Well, only a fool or an adolescent presumes to know someone else's relationship"
- J. Robert Oppenheimer

Good movies are a good source of meaningful quotes.

These quotes are just one of the few reasons why I've started watching a lot of movies recently.

I was never into watching movies or TV shows. Cartoons and some anime were common when I was younger, but as soon as I hit my teens, I focused more on sports and tech. These days, however, I watch at least one movie a month; most of which are older movies, classics.

The quote I mentioned above, I heard it while watching Oppenheimer a few months ago, and from then on it just stuck.

I learned, and understood, that no matter how well you may think that you know someone, or about their life, occupation, relationship, and struggles, you never get to see the whole picture. We just know what we're told, and sometimes we assume and make things up from the cumulation of minuscule details we are allowed to observe or listen to.

Long story short, most of us just put too much time and effort into shoving our noses in other people's businesses...

Last month my wife and I reached a successful 3 years of our marriage. In a generation where people are getting in and out of relationships on a 3-month trial purchase, it's quite an impressive feat, I must say.

Yet, it seems that some people aren't happy, in seeing us happy, makes sense?

They are doubtful, but they do have their reasons. What could be the reason?

Well, first of all, people just have way too much time to waste, hating on others, judging, being jealous, and all. It's nothing too uncommon. We've all seen it, heard it, and have been through it too. That is why I'd rather keep my private life "private". Many people don't understand why, but some things aren't meant to be on the public net, where it's all fairly accessible to random internet strangers.

Yes, my social media accounts are fairly private and restricted, but even then, you can never be too sure. I have about 700 people on my Facebook and almost all of them I know in real life. They're not the usual "internet friends"; yet, I have met a lot of them from the internet. It is without a doubt a good place to create connections, interact, and build a strong bond; if you know how to pick the "right" people.

Now, to my current relationship status, my wife and I don't post too much on social media, we don't post a lot of pictures, nor are we active on social media. I am on social media these days simply because of business-related matters, or else I would've uninstalled a lot of these apps long ago.

So, since my wife and I aren't as active, and don't post each other as much, people think that we might've gotten divorced lol. And I'm not even joking, people have come up to my wife, and relatives mostly, and have asked if we're still together, and if so, then why don't we post pictures and videos? You know, the basic type of posts, celebrating months and years, birthdays, anniversaries, and our date nights.

I say, what's the point?

As long as we're both together, enjoying and living the moment to the fullest, then why do we have to go to social media for attention? The only time I post something on social media is when I want to store it somewhere, mostly my images and photography which goes on Instagram, because I treat it like an album of photos and memories. Yet, it's still only accessible to a hand-picked bunch.

I guess we've all gotten so used to posting about every damn detail and thing on social media, that now when someone doesn't post or isn't active, he/she seems like an odd outcast of some sort; ostracized from the norms of the community. It's like if they're not active on social media, then they're probably lost in a jungle with no network or service, or simply dead, buried under 6 feet of soil.

People really need to use this free time and get more productive, instead of snooping into other people's lives and businesses. If they did so, then the world would be a much better place. Because we'd be more productive, and wouldn't have the time to bullsh*t around.

And to be honest, talking about my life. I've never been happier!

My family and loved ones are all here, we're all healthy, and we are working on making things better for ourselves and our family. So, we don't need to flaunt it and show off on social media. Because more or less, social media is used to get attention. The fakest of people use it and shout at the top of their lungs to get some attention and reactions. Pathetic!

Those who are truly happy and content with what they have, such people would rather live a peaceful and drama-free life, honestly appreciating the peace they are quite privileged to have.
