“If you have the ability to love, love yourself first.” – Charles Bukowski
And, self-love starts with a good cup of coffee, late in the evening...
For at least 6 days a week out of 7, I require a hot cup of coffee at around 8 PM. Now, whether it be self-cafe or just the kick I get from it, for me it has turned into a ritual. After taking care of all the "physical" tasks from my day, I come home, get some rest, and then sit at my desk.
Of course, with a hot cup of coffee.
I then go ahead and browse a bit of social media, tend to our business page online, come on Hive, write, post, and interact. And coffee for me tends to just boost up that experience.
I'm not much of a strong coffee drinker, what do you expect from the average cappuccino enjoyer? So, the effect the dose of caffeine has on me is minuscule. Thus, I take it as a form of self-care, to sit down and enjoy a nice cup of coffee at home; simply because I want to.
From the making of a good cup of coffee to drinking it, I truly enjoy the whole process.
The first thing I do after booting up my PC, is to go and make a hot cup of coffee.
It's not like the cup of coffee is necessary for me to perform and focus well, but it makes this whole process of juggling from one task to another quite tolerable, and sometimes enjoyable(it just depends on how good the cup of coffee turns out to be lol).
I still do have my home coffee experiences going on. So far from 2022 to 2024, I've tried 3 to 4 different brands of instant coffee and way more blends. I've tried liquid milk, powdered milk, and cream too. Now, I'm slowly beginning to understand what I like and dislike.
Yet, I'm still in search of the perfect cup of homemade coffee.

Recently I bought a pack of Moccona Select Instant Coffe from Douwe Egberts, and I've been trying this brand and blend for the past month or so. It's not one of my best picks, but it's not too bad either; considering the price and quantity.
I've also changed up my creamer to a 0-cholesterol variety, it still tastes and feels the same to me, but there's no harm in trying. It has a good ole creamy texture on the top; if made right. It's not like I'm trying to lower my calories or anything. Even though I've gained a bit of extra weight in the past 2 months or so. Yikes!
I also finally upgraded to an electric kettle. We did have an electric kettle at home, but it was small and was more suitable for our office. So, I decided to get a new one for this winter. This winter is one of the coldest I've experienced; thus, having access to some instant and "electrified" hot water surely helps. And I can't deny it, the kettle has upped my coffee-making experience. The whole process is way more efficient now.
All in all, it was a good month for my habit of coffee brewing and drinking.
