THE CHARM OF A DAMSELFLY // Capturing the Hidden Details of a Damselfly Through Macro Photography .
Good night to all my beloved hive friends 鈾ワ笍
Allow me to introduce you to a damselfly from the family Coenagrionidae.I rarely get the chance to photograph damselflies, not because they are rare, but because they are difficult to photograph. This particular damselfly has a very slender and elongated body, much like a needle. However, just like most other dragonflies, it also has a pair of widely spaced compound eyes on the sides of its head.
I have personally managed to find many different species of damselflies with a variety of unique colors, but this time, I managed to find a green one.
Today, heavy rain poured down in my area, forcing me to postpone many of my tasks. The rain finally stopped in the afternoon, by which time a lot of work had already piled up.
Behind my house, I spotted a damselfly flying around aimlessly before eventually landing on a blade of grass.
The combination of colors on this damselfly's body immediately caught my attention. The bright green color stands out beautifully on its thorax, while the yellow color covers its abdomen, along with a touch of light blue at the tip of its tail.
Damselflies are not as fast as regular dragonflies. Their movements are relatively slow and deliberate, but why are they so difficult to photograph.?
Take a look at their small and extremely long bodies. It is very difficult to precisely position the lens toward them. Focus on the face, and the tail becomes blurry. It is a real dilemma, and it requires tricks and patience.
After observing it ,I immediately realized a unique feature of this particular insect - this damselfly has transparent wings, and when it is perched ,its wings can be folded neatly together over its body .
A few years ago, when my friends and I were fishing in a river far away from any settlement, I managed to find a very beautiful damselfly. Its body was adorned with several colors, such as blue and red, and it was the most beautiful damselfly I had ever seen.
However, I have never seen it again since then. If I ever manage to find it again, I will definitely do whatever it takes to capture its beauty through photography .
As usual ,the most interesting and challenging part of my macro photography is when I try to photograph the subject from the front .
This particular damselfly was very sensitive to movement ,it kept watching my every move ,but my efforts this time paid off with a very satisfying result.
