I've always been a sucker for momos and the recently opened outlet named Yummy Wok has really leveled up the game in Mangalore. They have introduced new flavors and serve Delhi-like momos. Although momos have their origin in Nepal, Delhiites really revolutionized the entire concept and introduced some very interesting varieties like Tandoori momos, Kurkure momos, Hariyali momos, and the list goes on.
However, momos are classified into mainly three types - Steamed, Fried, and Pan-Fried. Something I quite recently found out about momos is that they first originated in the fourteenth century in the Kathmandu valley. The word 'momo' is derived from the word 'mome' which means steaming in the Newari language. In different regions, they also have different names like thypo, taipo, dimsums, dumplings, wontons, etc depending on the size variance and regions.
Yummy Wok is a compact kiosk store outlet that was recently set up at Attavar in Mangalore and has since then been among my top places to go eat at. I did make a mention about it on my previous blog - PU Reunions.

The Chicken Fried Peri-Peri Momos are extremely delicious and are my favorites from the lot. If you like it spicy, this is your plate. The Chicken Cheese Momos had a very unique flavor and thus is a must-try here. The Chicken Manchurian Momos are also very flavorful and should be your go-to if you like gravy ones.
