Hello my Hiver friends! I am up with another post and this one is on this fluffy mischievous lil devil – Katie. Here's my entry for the #HivePets community contest introduced by ocd@ocd. If you want to share about your pet too, you can click here to know more.

I adopted her from a good friend of mine just about four months ago, that was this January. My friend’s family was shifting to a new city and could not take her along. As much as I was sad about my friend leaving, I was also excited to bring this darling home.

A little about how she was named Katie-
This was the first time I brought a cat home and I had so much to learn in order to take care of her. I was looking for a new name and my indecisive being couldn’t choose one for almost a week. During this time, I had started calling her “Cat-y”. And then it just stuck to her. So, I improvised on it and that’s how now she’s Katie haha.

Well, Katie took quite long to get adjusted to this new name of hers and would hardly respond in the first few days. I was afraid she was finding it hard to adjust in her new surroundings. But then I learned how her behaviour was as normal as the other cats. Katie was already taught some basics and so it was not too hard to take care of her. But I did take pretty long to handle her random pounces. Katie is such a moody girl. But I still can’t decide if she is as moody as she is lazy. She has this little corner in my parents’ bedroom, just by the dressing table and it is now officially her spot. She’s mostly just sleeping there all the time.

Something I find extremely funny to watch-
I got Katie a few toys to play with but she got bored of them all in a few days. But what’s funny is she once found an old fidget spinner while I was clearing my cupboard and she just got obsessed with it. So, I let her keep it. It is funny to see her struggle trying to spin the plastic blades lol. She will eventually get mad at the spinner (and everyone else), push it away and walk away from it mewing. But some time later, she’s back at the task.
I have my online classes going on and the other day while I was on the sofa presenting a topic in class on my laptop, she decides to slowly crawl into my lap. It was cute and funny at the same time.

Katie now feels like an integral part of our little family. Everyone at home, especially my mum who earlier didn’t like cats, is now very attached to her.
