Oh man it's been a great season for saffron milk cap mushrooms, common in pine forests round here. ON the way back from a trip to country Victoria we stopped past a reservoir and picked a metric ton of

The thing about AI is that no one was sitting around saying, "Oh geez, you know what would really improve music? Making it better than what humans can do." We loved music. We admired the musicians

Daylesford's one of those perfect country towns where you get to enjoy nature, eat good food, and maybe shop a little. It's not far from Melbourne, but far enough away that you think you're going somewhere

The other day I was surfing and I found myself complaining to someone how busy it was. He looked at me and said 'well, it's not as busy as summer', stopping my rant immediately. I laughed and apologised,

Every now and then I glut myself on books - there does need to be a little magic in the air, though, that lands them in the 'reserved' section of the mobile library on Thursdays and Saturdays. Some books

The weekend was absolutely superb - I met each sunrise from Friday to Sunday, and despite the cold, it was just amazing. My son said he'd been at Lake Garda hiring paddle boards and the hire place was

After all the years I've been contributing to the minimalist vibe here on Hive, I've got cause to write about something so awfully unminimalist as to be obscene, and, as hoarding can be, sad. I caught

They spent how much money on a sound amplification structure in the Port Campbell Marine Park? Yep, 8 million bucks. Wow. What's it made of, gold? Nope, fibreglass. I had to go see it, I suppose, though

There’s something beautiful about watching someone get wise all on their ownsome. You can tell someone til you get blue in the face, but until they get it themselves, it's not really a lesson. My beautiful

Some days are good days not because they are spectacular, but because they are full of good moment to moment experiences. Sitting here knitting and listening to Friday afternoon Melbourne alt radio and

I started the Ocean Lovers community on Hive because of my love for the ocean - those of you that have known me long enough here will know I have my tail fins in salt water and the rest of me on land,
