Keeping promises to our children helps them to learn and understand that God is someone who always keep His promise no matter what happen. The Bible shows that God never fails in what He has spoken, and as parents or guardians, we are called to reflect that same faithfulness. When children see consistency in our words and actions, it builds their trust not only in us but also shapes their understanding of God’s reliability.
When ever we promise children and we didn't keep the promise, it will teach them that promises are not meant to keep and it will make them not to be truthful in anything they are doing. Scripture teaches that our words should be honest and dependable, and this applies strongly in our relationship with our children. When we say we will do something, we should make every effort to fulfill it, or humbly explain when circumstances prevent us, showing them honesty and accountability.
Keeping promises also teaches children the value of integrity and responsibility. By our example, they learn to be truthful and dependable in their own lives. In this way, we are not only raising them with care but also guiding them in a way that honors God, helping them grow into people who respect truth and keep their word.
