When we keep promises and also fulfil them it shows how trustworthy we are in the presence of people and they will want to learn from us. When parents or guardians make promises to children, they should do their best to fulfil them. Doing so builds trust, reflects godly character, and teaches children the value of truthfulness and faithfulness in their own lives.
Children learns faster with the things they see around the adults doing. While unexpected situations may sometimes prevent a promise from being kept, it is wise to explain the reason with love and sincerity.
Scripture says, "Let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.'" (Matthew 5:37).
