Searching the library for a ritual book, I discovered mutilated corpses while navigating the dark archives. A fast, unknown creature stalked me through the hallways and escaped through a hole.
After defeating a sudden infected enemy, I reached the reading room, where I was haunted by memories of Faye and ominous noises.
Our primary entrance and exit route remained completely blocked, likely by the boat I had used to reach the library earlier. Pushing those worries aside, I turned my attention toward locating the ritual book.
I made my way through the dark corridors, heading straight for the archive room in hopes of finding the volume, though I felt uncertain about what actually awaited me inside.
Before I could step through the threshold, something darted out of the room at incredible speed. It moved far too fast to identify clearly, instantly confirming that I was not alone in the abandoned facility.
I proceeded with extreme caution, navigating the pitch-black space while scanning every corner for the lurking threat. I spotted an emergency relief crate nearby, but without the proper key, I had to leave it behind and search for another way inside.
Nearby, I discovered a library map mounted on the wall, which indicated that the restricted section was located on the upper floor.
Moving further into the archives, I stumbled upon a horrific scene. Multiple mutilated corpses were scattered across the floor, some turned upside down and covered in worms as if deliberately fed to them.
Kelvin quietly questioned who could commit such a gruesome act.
Exploring the dark halls made me increasingly anxious about the creature that had fled earlier. My flashlight beam was weak, failing to cut through the vast darkness of the main hallway.
A moment later, I caught another brief glimpse of the creature before it leaped away into the shadows once again, escaping too quickly for me to capture a photo. The creature slipped through a jagged hole in the wall that I discovered next.
With no other route available, I followed its path into the adjacent restroom.
Suddenly, an infected corpse burst out from the floor, prompting me to shoot it down instantly, though I doubted this enemy was the swift monster creeping around the building.
Passing through the area, I noticed a projector displaying a strange, cryptic image on the wall. I continued forward until I reached the library reading room.
Standing inside, I could hear the faint sound of an evacuation boat siren wailing in the distance outside. The room matched the exact location from Kelvin's flashback
Where he had fallen for Faye and mentioned that the ritual book was stored on the floor above.
Strange, unsettling noises echoed through the walls, confirming that something terrible still hunted me from the dark.
