Navigating steep cliffs, treacherous jumps, and bone-littered paths, I reached a hanging body seen from afar. After cutting down the corpse, Lara recovered a Bishop 600 shotgun from the fallen Trinity soldier. Expanding my arsenal, I made my way to the Cenote Temple Ruins base camp to rest.
Returning to the main mission, I set my sights on reaching the hanging body visible in the distance. The route required navigating a steep, treacherous path, kicking aside skulls and human skeletons along the way while disturbing sounds echoed through the caverns.
Lara dismissed the chilling sounds as mere noise, maintaining her focus. I took a massive leap across the gap, barely making the landing.
Using a rope arrow and my climbing axes, I traversed a sheer stone wall to reach the far side. Lara slipped near the edge and nearly plummeted into the abyss, but she managed to regain her grip and pull herself to safety in one piece.
Nearing the objective point, I encountered several dead bodies scattered across the stone floor. Unlike the old skeletons, these corpses still had flesh on their bones, indicating they died fairly recently.
The brutal nature of their deaths left me hoping Lara would not suffer a similar fate.
I finally reached the hanging corpse suspended high above the ground. Raising my knife, I sliced through the rope, and the body crashed on the floor below.
Investigating the corpse revealed it belonged to a fallen Trinity soldier who had entered the ruins before us. Scavenging his gear, Lara recovered a heavy Bishop 600 shotgun and equipped it for the battles ahead.
Acquiring the weapon expanded my inventory, allowing me to carry two primary long guns alongside a sidearm and my bow.
Confirming Lara's suspicion that Trinity soldiers had previously entered the area only to meet a bad end, I pushed forward into the inner chamber. Then I discovered the Cenote Temple Ruins base camp, where I took the opportunity to stop, upgrade gear, and give Lara a much-needed rest.
