Greetings, Hivers.

A few days ago I was sitting on a bench in Havana when I noticed a father and his daughter. It was a simple family moment, yet full of tenderness. The dad was cracking open almonds for the little girl, those tough fruits we have all eaten at some point and that, like cavemen, we break open with whatever rustic tool we find at hand, usually far from home and right there in the street.

And of course, the universal tool of choice: a good stone. The scene filled me with nostalgia. My father, like so many others, also cracked almonds for us using whatever he had nearby. The almond itself is small and brief, but its flavor stays with you, and even more so the quality time we shared with our parents, just as many now share it with their own children.

It was that scene that encouraged me to break the ice that day and start taking photos. From that spot I captured a few images, and then I continued walking, carrying on with the routine that brings me so much joy. As always, my wife was by my side. We talked about everything and nothing, unimportant things, but just like those almonds, it is the company and the quality time that I enjoy the most. The photos are simply the good fruit that grows from those moments.

Saludos, Hivers.
