The situation in Cuba keeps getting worse. The changes happening across the region have become deeply stressful for everyone, and their impact is felt directly in the pockets and on the tables of the most vulnerable.
It is precisely in the hardest moments that people seek refuge in different things. Some embrace religion as an escape or a source of hope when no improvement seems near. Others, like my friends and myself, take refuge in what we are most passionate about, photography. It is not that we do not have urgent problems to solve, it is that photographing has become part of who we are, like breathing or drinking water.
And even while facing difficulties, we still feel the need to walk the streets and leave a record of what is happening.
Today I want to share a small series inspired by these thoughts. I hope you enjoy it. As always, I will be glad to read your thoughts.

La situaci贸n en Cuba cada vez es peor. Los cambios que est谩n ocurriendo en la regi贸n se han vuelto muy estresantes para todos, y su impacto se siente directamente en los bolsillos y en la mesa de los m谩s vulnerables.
Es precisamente en los momentos m谩s dif铆ciles cuando las personas buscan refugio en distintas cosas. Algunos abrazan la religi贸n como un escape o una fuente de esperanza cuando no se perciben mejor铆as cercanas. Otros, como mis amigos y yo, nos refugiamos en lo que m谩s nos apasiona, la fotograf铆a. No es que no tengamos problemas urgentes que resolver, es que fotografiar se ha convertido en parte de quienes somos, como respirar o beber agua.
Y aun enfrentando las dificultades, seguimos sintiendo la necesidad de salir a la calle y dejar registro de lo que sucede.
Hoy quiero compartir una peque帽a serie inspirada en estas ideas. Espero que les guste. Como siempre, los leo.
