Greetings hivers.

From the ruins of a destroyed sugar mill, these rusty pieces of iron are all that remain. More or less that is how the former workers of the place described it to us, sadly watching how pieces of what was once their home became improvised solutions for vehicles. Due to the shortage of spare parts, machinists would shape those chunks of iron that once crushed sugar cane into axles, screws, nuts, or whatever was needed to repair anything that entered the workshop.

Walking among those abandoned structures felt like wandering through the remains of another era. Every silent machine seemed to hold stories of endless working days, of the constant noise of the mills, and of the effort of hundreds of people who depended on that place to live.

Now only rust, silence, and nostalgia remain. But even among the ruins, you can still feel the human trace of those who dedicated a large part of their lives there. Maybe that is why it is impossible to see these iron pieces as simple scrap. They are fragments of memory, survival, and history.

I hope you enjoy the photographs. I鈥檒l be reading your comments.

Saludos hivers.

Espero que les gusten las fotograf铆as. Los leo.
