Greetings, black and white Hivers.

What do people think when they see a photographer pointing a lens at them? I don鈥檛 ask myself this often, but sometimes the thought invites reflection.

Some look away, uncomfortable, as if the lens were a mirror exposing them. Others smile, pose, offering themselves without hesitation鈥攁lmost grateful that someone notices them. And then there are those who completely ignore the photographer, lost in their routines, detached from everything, even themselves. Isn鈥檛 that, after all, a faithful reflection of human nature? Each face is a world; each reaction, a story.

The photographer, amid the comings and goings, isn鈥檛 just looking for images. They seek understanding, to capture a moment that speaks louder than a thousand words, that reveals what usually goes unnoticed. They are not just a witness鈥攖hey are an interpreter, a bridge between reality and the one who will later observe it from the safe distance of a screen or a print. Their need is not only aesthetic; it is existential: to hold onto what will soon be gone.

And in that silent dance between the observer and the observed, there are also losses. Missed chances, gestures that couldn鈥檛 be frozen in time, people who will never pass by again. But in the street, as in life, every loss opens the door to something new. The photographer knows this. That鈥檚 why they keep walking, keep pointing, keep waiting for that precise moment when everything makes sense. Even if it鈥檚 just for a fraction of a second.

Saludos hivers blanco y negros.
