Home is where I can taste my mom's cooking.
There's something different in our mom's cooking. No matter how good we can cook we never can overdo our mom's dishes, no? Maybe it's because we grew up having that taste or maybe it's connected with our love for our mom. Or maybe every mother is a great cook by nature.
I'm the unfortunate one who can't get enough opportunity eat mom's cooking. Occasionally, when I get that I don't hesitate to miss.
Just yesterday, my mom invited me for dinner. It was a simple dinner party. I told her to not prepare anything rich. I love her simple traditional dishes.
We prepared some pointed gourd fry. This is so simple, we need to cut the gourd and mix them with salt, turmeric & chili powder. But yet I can't make it like my mom.
There's something special in her hands.
And this 'mutton rezala' was too delicious. The color, gravy was so perfect.
It's not actually about food but it's about love, I believe. It makes us feel comfortable, it feels like home.
My mom usually send some food when we leave home, every time. So that we don't miss her cooking.
Yes, still we are fortunate that we get this opportunity. She is growing older, unfortunately, we can't live near her. And this makes me feel sad every single day.
After so many days, her cooking made me feel the homemade goodness, remind me about my childhood.
I pray to have this opportunity as long as we live.
