Dried plum is my all-time favorite and when I came to know the health benefits of it, I started to eat it more. I would not say this processed and preserved version is best for our health but this is the only way we can taste plum from around the world.

My country- Bangladesh doesn't cultivate this type of Sakura plum and prunes. We have some local variety but they are different. There are different plums available in the market which come from mostly Myanmar, Thailand, and Malaysia. You can find full dried, half-dried, seedless and plum stips also.

Here are three types of sakura plum you can see. The black one is fully dried, the red one is half dried and the one which is less red in color is the seedless one. I personally prefer the half-dried one, they taste good. But the other two are also good.

Plum is full of nutrition. It contains several minerals and vitamins and low in calories. So, it's good for the diet also. And the fiber is always good for our health and digestive system. Also, plums and prunes are rich in antioxidants.

Plums are also good for controlling blood sugar and promote heart health. Also, many variety contains iron which is good to prevent anemia. As it's easy to add in diet so anyone can have this.

The raw plums are best for health. But as this doesn't grow in my country and costs really high so the dried version is my only option. My son also occasionally eat this.

I bought this new type- dried plum strips. But I'm not a fan of this. It's salty and not that tasty. I usually have different kinds of plum and dates. I don't know if you prefer this as a snack but I really do. This dried version may not have many health benefits but they are better compared to other unhealthy snacks like chips.

So, what do you think? Would you love to have this or not?
