So I was reading galenkp@galenkp's post about making up a word and I thought why not have a go at this? So challenge accepted!

I am not the most creative person out there, and neither do I have an exceptional command of English, so relfy is the word that I have made up!

If you am sharp enough, you probably realise relfy bears a close resemblance to my nickname of Hive, and yes, it's derived from there.

Relf is actually an nickname that I coined for myself when I was very young. It came about because when I was a kid, I liked to be on all fours wandering on the floor around the house. You probably think, all toddlers are on all fours anyway, so what's so special? For me I think this continued until I was slightly older, even when I am capable of walking by myself.

I actually got the "inspiration" from pet dogs - and I thought it was kinda fun and cute to be like one. So as I scrambled on all fours from place to place, I would make dog-like barks and sounds, and one of them sounded like "Relf!* (You probably need to imagine haha)

It left such a deep impression with me until when the Internet era came along we all needed to have userids/usernames to register for email accounts, games, etc, "relf" would be first choice (if it wasn't taken).

So fast forward, what does relfy mean? I have some possible suggestions.

  1. Acting or behaving like a dog or perhaps, puppy
E.g. The manner which John chews on the wing and licks the bone is so relfy.

  2. Full of fun and jokes
E.g. The birthday party was such a blast - the games were so relfy!

So that's all I have for this mini challenge! Welcome any comments too!

Here's leaving you with a dog photo - this is supposed to be Hachiko, which is the famous dog at Shibuya, Tokyo!
