It was sometime in the spring of the year 2000. I was sitting on the rooftop of my apt building in Brooklyn. The Manhattan skyline with the twins crowning it was our view. I was there with my buddy Eric. Smoking a joint talking about life and music. Talking about duty and vision. We always had great conversations that ultimately turned into arguments; sometimes fights. He would yell at me for not being diligent enough and for wasting time questioning things. He would tell me “just play” .... you got it! In his islander accent. And I would always laugh and defend my reluctant approach to my life. To be completely honest, he was and still is right. I may appear from the outside that I have done a lot; that I burn at my maximum all the time; but on the inside I know that I haven’t gone to my 100%. I’m still holding back; not accepting fully to become. I’m getting close though. I can feel it. Will it be too late? Will our world change so much that there would be no more music? Who knows.

On that night in the middle of our deep argument we fell into a silent spell. We both were gazing at the twin towers. They were so close to us.

I looked at Eric and told him: These two buildings mean so much. They represent so much good and evil, beauty and ugliness. But I feel scared now. I feel scared something bad is going to happen to them. There is so much evil around them now. He looked at me and nodded his head. A white dove landed atop the antenna on the roof - at around midnight; in New York City; not ur typical site. In the Arab world if you say something and then hear church bells or a call for prayer you say God is my word’s witness.
For me the dove was my witness.

I wrote this track - The Twins years later. It held the memory of that night.
