Y el día llegó. ¡Feliz Día de San Valentín a todos!
Aunque particularmente pienso que no se requiere un día en especial para celebrar el amor y la amistad, y dejando de lado el tema comercial, considero que es bueno hacernos conscientes de la importancia de la amistad y el amor en cualquier forma de expresión. Así que este día es como hacer un alto en nuestras agitadas vidas para dar, aunque sea por un momento, la atención que merece.
Quise dibujar en esta ocasión a Ícaro y a Coral en su versión original. Y es que esta es una de las parejas que más me encantan en el juego, no solamente por el gran contraste de colores, lo cual los lleva de un extremo a otro, sino que, a pesar de ser de especies y ambientes completamente distintos, lograron tener una gran y hermosa amistad.

Empecé con el boceto para posicionar los elementos. Las alas de Ícaro era lo que ocuparía más espacio, así busqué una forma de ubicarlos de manera que no chocara con los otros elementos. También quería que la imagen se balanceara entre ambos personajes, ya que Coral tiene colores muy llamativos y por el contrario, Ícaro no.
Luego comencé a dar los detalles a lápiz. Fue divertido trabajar con las pequeñas gaviotas y el búho, compañero de aventuras de Ícaro.
Para el lineart, hice mayor énfasis en las líneas externas de los personajes para ayudar a resaltarlos del fondo, ya que con la cantidad de azul alrededor de ellos, podrían lucir como si estaban pegados al fondo como un sticker.
Hacer los colores planos es siempre una de las partes más relajantes para mí. Ya al finalizar, puedo tener una visión más cercana de cómo terminará la pieza.
Y voilà! Aquí tenemos el resultado final. Quise agregar muchos brillos al agua para dar la sensación de un día brillante en el mar y también para realzar algo la escena entre los dos personajes.

And the day came. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
Although I particularly think that a special day is not required to celebrate love and friendship, and leaving aside the commercial issue, I think it is good to make us aware of the importance of friendship and love in any form of expression. So this day is like taking a break from our hectic lives to give, even for a moment, the attention it deserves.
This time I wanted to draw Icarus and Coral in their original version. And it is that this is one of the couples that I love the most in the game, not only because of the great contrast of colors, which takes them from one extreme to another but also, despite being of completely different species and environments, They managed to have a great and beautiful friendship.

I started with the sketch to position the elements. The wings of Icarus were the ones that would take up the most space, so I looked for a way to place them so that they wouldn't collide with the other elements. I also wanted the image to balance between both characters, since Coral has very bright colors and Icarus does not.
Then I began to give the details in pencil. It was fun working with the little seagulls and the owl, Icarus' adventure companion.
For the lineart, I put more emphasis on the outer lines of the characters to help them stand out from the background, since with the amount of blue around them, they could look like they were glued to the background like a sticker.
Doing the flat colors is always one of the most relaxing parts for me. At the end, I can have a closer vision of how the piece will end.
And voila! Here we have the final result. I wanted to add a lot of glitter to the water to give the feeling of a bright day at sea and also to enhance the scene between the two characters a bit.
