It’s that time of year… Barrel Aged Beer Releases!!!!

If you’re a beer lover then you already know that fall brings some of the best beers of the year. Among my favorites are Black Tuesday from The Bruery and Eclipise from FiftyFifty Brewing. Both are stellar barrel aged stouts that are incredibly complex, rich, and unlike any beer you’ve ever head before. What you may not know is that you actually have a chance to snag a bottle of each.

For those interested in trying to snag a bottle of 2016 Black Tuesday, this 20.3% ABV beauty’s only public sale will be on The Bruery’s website on Oct. 25th at 10am PST. Past years they have done a lottery, but this year it’s first come first serve on their web site, thebruerystore.com.   As for Eclipse, each year they do anywhere from 6 to a dozen different variants and this year is no different. Aside from a smattering of different bourbon barrel aged versions, this year also brings us a cherry variant as well as an apple brandy aged version. While this is a small batch, mom and pop brewery, Eclipse will hit shelves in some of the more specialized and high-end liquor stores across a good part of the US. Be on the look out in December of this year.

And for those who want less of a wild goose chase to find a quality barrel aged stout, my recommendation would be to hit the stores now as this years Barrel Aged Narwhal from Sierra Nevada just hit the shelves. And in addition to last years bourbon barrel version, this year they have added red wine aged and rum aged variants. All three are awesome!    Happy beer hunting!!! Let me know what you’re drinking in your neck of the woods. Cheers to all!!!
