Pumpkin Coach*

Theme ~ Fall Fruits

Fall is the time of year to collect the harvest and enjoy the delicious fruits of your and Mother Nature’s labors.

Two Fall Fruits I like to cook with are apples and pumpkins.

Apples are plentiful this time of year and I take advantage of them fresh from the trees.

The wild apple trees on the property were loaded with fruit and are food for the animals and birds.

As the temperatures drop, the ground becomes covered with fallen fruit but these will be cleaned up by the wild animals.

Not only the animals but I also make use of the apples and often cook up an apple crisp. It’s a nutritious way to get some apples into the body.

A dab of ice cream on the top of a serving doesn’t hurt either.:)

Pumpkin is another great fall fruit. The fields are alive with them.

Pumpkin a fruit? It might not be what you thought but…pumpkin is a fruit.

Pumpkins are not only great for Halloween decorations, muffins and lattes but make delicious pies.

Whipped cream can be added on top when serving the pie later…only a tiny dollop…of course.:)

*Photo of the Pumpkin Coach with color splash was one taken by Hubby of me acting silly at the King’s Castle Park on Prince Edward Island, Canada.

It’s a theme park of fairy tale characters. Perfect park for children and (big kids) to have fun but closed for the season. The park will re-open again in the Spring.
