This tree is also called the Rowan or Goddess Tree And in Norse mythology is the tree from which woman was created.
I can see why this tree played an important part in the Norse myths as it continually producing something to beautify the environment and help the wildlife.
In the spring foliage comes on the tree and later it produces lovely white blossoms which turn into white berries. By late summer or early fall these berries turn red and can be used by the birds and other animals for winter feasting.
Not only food for the birds but the berries stay on all winter and make a colorful display against the white of the snow. By winter the leaves have fallen but the tree still looks beautiful with the abundance of red berries.
