Lakeside Symphony
A little boat in the middle of the lake. A boy. And a man. They were in a moment of astound, when they heard of the tales of their neighborly puddle (well, a large one). They felt they were up to the task, to win the prize, and to lavish their family with the rewards to be gained from their adventure.
The father had even gotten his son out from school to accompany him to this feat of bravery and smarts. A creature of beauty and fear resides at the bottom of the lake: a mermaid.
The man had feared that on his own, he would be helpless to fight against the siren calls of this beautiful creature of death -- what a stretch that would be, to conquer the seducer of men! That is what this tawdry boy was here for :P
Probably a bigger boy
They had gotten some preparations from the attic. A couple of fishing rods, a mermaid lure (some fish bait), and some ear plugs. (Not sure why they needed fish bait -- I'd imagine the man himself was the mermaid lure!)
They were nervous, but their information source was from a young man who lived to tell of the tale. He was with his gang and was the only grown man who was unaffected by the lullaby of this aquatic creature. That was when he was listening to his noise cancelling headphones.
So there now, the man and the boy waited.
And they waited.

Why do I keep getting the prompt "tawdry"? I don't wanna keep saying people's taste in things are gaudy (basically what tawdry means)! I guess that's what happens when you use a word generator!
