I know I’ve been walking, but the only hazy part is which road I'm actually on. All I have left are fragments of the journey. Part of me wants to stop, rest, or switch lanes—if switching lanes is even an option when the alternative is just a void. But I remember the weight of every single experience. That atmosphere is what sticks.

It’s a wide, cracked road full of potholes holding either clean or murky water. My eyes stay glued to the dirt. Every step lands in one or the other, and I can't skip past them. I’m carrying the dust on the outside, and I’m definitely harder on myself than anyone else ever could be. But I know one thing: there’s still something good underneath. I don’t know how much farther I have to go, but I know if I stop moving completely, I’ll disappear.
I look up to catch some sun, but low branches block the glare. Whatever light makes it through vanishes as fast as morning dew. Beyond whatever destination is waiting for me lies another mystery—what comes after that. Wonder won't give away the ending, but there’s only one way to find out: keep walking down the line.
That’s the thing about this road. Whether I step in clean water or take hits from the outside, it all turns into a story. One where I missed the mark, another where I came out clean. Both are part of the deal.
Right now, I’m sitting on a rock, writing this down. Maybe just to line up the flaws and the wins side by side. This rock isn't pretending to be some undying beast; we’ll all fade eventually, leaving nothing behind but dust and ghosts.
Even stones wear down to soil eventually. Nothing here is permanent, and honestly, that’s a relief. The chaos passes, even if the pace and timing remain a complete mystery.
Time to get off this rock and keep moving. Even a plant crushed under a heavy stone either finds a way to force its way around it or learns to live under the weight. I’m not turning back, and even if I could switch lanes, I doubt it’s worth the detour.
I’m crossing the river and pushing past the branches now. The darkness ahead just needs my awareness. I’m off.
