The environment we live play a very major part of our everyday life.
I will use this opportunity to share an incident that occurred where I stay which drove sleep out of our eyes.
I actually stepped out of the house to attend a church program which was scheduled for 6pm to 8pm. I got to the church venue and there were issues with the light even as it was an electrical fault which caused us to delay the service a bit until it was resolved and then the service kick started just at 7:30pm causing us to close by 9:15pm.
I left the venue and got home by 10pm, tried to get something to eat then i laid on my bed when it was 12:15am.
Just around 3am(few hours after i had slept) i heard a sound of bottle being smashed on the ground just in my compound. It was then i heard the shout of a woman saying Ole! Ole!! (meaning Thief, Thief).
Few guys had just broken into the compound and had tried entering her house to steal some items. They had a cutlass with them in which they would have used to scare her to get whatever they came for.
They had just started trying to gain entrance into her apartment downstairs.
After the loud scream from the lady the guys scrambled away in fear of being caught as fellow neighbors dashed out to see what was happening.
The thieves had tore her door net and was trying to access her main door.
According to eye witnesses they said they were about 5 guys of youthful ages.
We tried seeing if we could chase after them but it proved abortive.
We gathered to access the situation and noticed they had entered through a particular way.
It was sad to know that youth at that age had such intentions to rob people and even may injure anyone they had robbed.
Although we could not sleep anymore even we were just trying to engage ourselves to access the situation that just occurred, we were just thanking God that there were no injuries and we were all safe.
I really just want to urge us even as folks that we should be care and also security conscious about our environment.
People are watching you and some don't even have good intentions towards you at heart but you just got to keep your head up high and stay alert and also prayerful.
