What a safer life! It was rat disturbances that saved Mr. Reuben from sudden death at midnight.

It was 12:30 AM, and the neighbor generator kicked in with its angry roar. Mr. Reuben was still awake on his bed, eyes opened. He lied on the bed inside a mud house.

Before 12:00 AM, rats have started running up and down playing on the Nylon used as a ceiling to cover up. But due to stress, he couldn't do anything and ignored their troubles.

Mr. Reuben’s family are not in the settlement due to insecurity in the area. He used to come and spend some time there and go back. When he got home from the farm, he rushed to the kitchen to prepare what he was going to eat before going to bed.

Meanwhile, neighbors were also starting their noisy generators. There were many noises here and there.

Mr. Reuben, as a farmer had worked in his farm throughout the day and his intention was to get home, take a bath, eat and sleep to refresh his energy for next day farm activities.

However, there was a rumor that bandits are coming to invade the community any time. Many people are scared of being kidnapped by these notorious gangs.

Soliloquy.
“Oh my God! I am too tired for this God. First of all, I must find the means to reduce the rate at which these rats are multiplied and disturbed to enable me to have sound sleep.” Moreover, there must be a meeting concerning those that are using generators at midnight. I must see the community head. How will one go to work and come back to have peace of mind become something one needs to beg God for?” Mr Reuben lamented.

Later, he slept off.

“Suddenly, some pieces of mud blocks fell from the opened side of the ceiling and dropped on his head unaware. Oh, what is this again?” Mr. Reuben reacted.

Immediately, he noticed that his bladder was full and went out to ease himself. Nevertheless, while urinating outside. He just heard a sound at his back, and turned to look at what had happened. He realized the wall of the room had collapsed on the bed he left.

Sobbered.
“Oh my creator! So, this is how I would've lost my life. These rats actually saved me from doom.” Mr. Reuben said.

This incident terrified him and everyone thanked God for the grace over his life. The following day, he couldn't go to the farm because of shock.
