I witnessed a Snowy Egret working very hard to catch fish in an inter-coastal inlet.

I found her running in circles in this little pool chasing down minnows.

She was focused and full of energy.

Beautiful and majestic.

Surprisingly agile.

You can identify the Snowy Egret by their pint size, black beak with yellow trim and black legs with yellow feet. This picture illustrates it well.

She caught one fish that was so big she was unable to swallow it, although she tried several different angles to get it down her skinny throat.

Coiled up, her neck would then release like a spring into the water.

She caught dozens of fish in the 30 minutes I watched her.

A flattering profile picture.

A wide angle shot with the Bridge of Lions in the backdrop (St. Augustine, Florida). Our Snowy Egret is in the tidal pool on the right and she was joined briefly by a Great Egret on the left, center.
