Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day. Today I want to share with you a new digital illustration I've been working on: a classic fanart of Ladybug, taking advantage of the excitement around the premiere of the new season!
For this piece, I decided to go back to her iconic, beloved design from the earlier seasons before recent changes. Getting the dynamic pose and the lighting right took some patience, but I experimented with blocking in the background early on to make integrating the warm sunset atmosphere much smoother.
Here is a look at the step-by-step process, from the traditional structure to the final digital details:
Initial traditional pencil sketch on lined paper.
Refining proportions and structural layout.
Clean digital lineart in Ibis Paint X.
Flat base colors applied to the character.
Background established early to guide the lighting.
Adding primary shadows and warm sunset tones.
Refining details, highlights, and final color balance.
Final illustration with all adjustments complete.

¡Hola a todos! Espero que estén teniendo un día maravilloso. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una nueva ilustración digital en la que he estado trabajando: un fanart clásico de Ladybug, aprovechando la emoción por el estreno de la nueva temporada.
Para esta pieza, decidí regresar a su icónico y querido diseño de las primeras temporadas, aquel con el que tantos crecimos antes de los cambios recientes. Conseguir la pose dinámica y la iluminación adecuada tomó algo de paciencia, pero experimenté estableciendo el fondo desde temprano para que integrar la atmósfera cálida del atardecer fuera mucho más fluido.
Aquí les comparto un vistazo al paso a paso del proceso, desde la estructura tradicional hasta los detalles digitales finales:
Boceto a lápiz inicial en papel de líneas.
Refinando proporciones y estructura general.
Lineart digital limpio en Ibis Paint X.
Colores base planos aplicados al personaje.
Fondo establecido con antelación para guiar la iluminación.
Adición de sombras principales y tonos cálidos del atardecer.
Refinando detalles, brillos y balance final de color.
Ilustración final con todos los ajustes completos.
