🦉 The European greenfinch or simply the greenfinch (Chloris chloris)
📚 Chloris khlōros (Greek) green; yellow
These birds are the first to appear in the spring, although it is believed that wagtails and finches always arrive first. For example, this year greenfinches appeared in mid-March, while the snow was still lying and it was very cold, and there were no other birds that were supposed to return from wintering in the forest.
In the old days, this bird was called "forest canary", and this is due to their voices and songs. Their trills in the spring stand out from the rest of the bird voices. It is a pity that in my city this bird is quite shy, and taking a photo is not so easy.
